Do you have gourmet meals?

Absolutely! We take pride in offering gourmet meals sourced from local producers. Enjoy a delicious dining experience during your stay with us.

How big is the Lodge?

Our lodge is spacious, spanning 6400 sqft. It features 10 bedrooms, a lounge, a gathering/dining area, a game room/pro shop, a commercial kitchen, an outdoor patio area, and a fire pit. Additionally, we have a shop mud room with accessible lockers for all clients.

Do you have rentals available?

Yes, we have rental shotguns available, specifically the Benelli Super Black Eagle 3, as well as premium 3" steel shot ammo. You can save time by renting our shotguns at $50/day and purchasing ammo at $25/box.

What do I need to Hunt?

To participate in our hunts, you will need a non-resident 5-day special hunting license, a Texas migratory bird endorsement, a federal duck stamp, HIP certification, a federal sandhill crane permit, and completion of a Hunters Safety Course. Please ensure you have met all the necessary requirements before your scheduled hunt.

What kind of Hunts do you offer?

99% of our hunts are dry field hunts. We use a variety of setups, including a-frame style blinds on stools, layout blinds, or backboards and blankets. We adjust our approach based on the conditions to provide the best hunting experience.

What should I wear?

We recommend dressing in layers as the temperature can fluctuate throughout the day. Bring warm clothing, base layers, waterfowl hunting waders (for duck hunts only), and the appropriate shotgun shells (steel shot for waterfowl and lead shot for dove).

What should I bring?

Please bring your shotgun, ear and eye protection, special food or drinks for your stay, and a cooler for transportation of harvested game.

We look forward to providing you with an exceptional hunting experience at Fowl Plains Outfitters in Abernathy, West Texas!
